‘Silver Sailors’ offered 75% off with Windermere Lake Cruises
Published: 30th September 2019
Windermere Lake Cruises has responded to a sharp-rise in enquiries from local residents of retirement age, by bringing back the attraction’s exclusive offer of 24 hours of unlimited cruising on Windermere for just a quarter of the usual fee.
On every Friday in October 2019, ‘Silver Sailors’ can enjoy the beauty of England’s longest lake from onboard one of Windermere Lake Cruises’ ‘steamers’, with a famous “Freedom of the Lake” ticket for just £5.20.
Further savings can be made too, with a cruise, a visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum and a trip on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway all adding-up to less than £12.50 – with the added bonus of being able to bring grandchildren (aged under five) for free.
The 75% discount offer is open to retired people who live locally in postcode areas beginning with either LA or CA – including North Lancashire, as well as across Cumbria. Furthermore, every Silver Sailor can also bring along a local friend of any age, for the same discounted rate.
With plenty of jetties along the lake, visitors can also stop-off at beauty spots including Wray Castle and the Lake District Visitors Centre at Brockhole - which both offer plenty of room for the grandchildren to burn off some energy.
All people need to do to qualify for the Friday discounts offer is simply present proof of residency when booking.
Tickets can be purchased from any Windermere Lake Cruises booking office, located at Bowness Pier, Lakeside Pier and Ambleside (Waterhead) Pier. They can also be bought at the offices of the Lakeland Motor Museum and from the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway.
